i find it really funny when people label damen as this big dumb meathead who only ever gets anything done because his Sassy Nerd Boyfriend does all the thinking. my boi is a tactical genius who was commanding armies as a teenager and bested the vere army like it was nothing. this is the dude who was stuck in a foreign land as a slave and managed to win himself an army through intelligence and bravery. damen of Akielos is a brilliant man who also is a giant puppy that loves to run around outside and wrestle naked.

An AU “What if they met as kids ?” With Damen shocked by how much fabric is on Laurent, Smaurent discovering Akielons, their (Damen’s) soft hair and outgoing nature, so far away from the strict Veretian court. He even ends up stealing one of Damen’s chiton when he’s bathing, running around the castle while saying he’s Akielon (and eventually tripping on the edge of the chiton, and a very na ked Damen coming to his rescue and doing his best to help him stop crying).
On their separation Laurent gives Damen his favorite toy. Each time Damen comes back, he gives the toy to Laurent and each times he leaves Laurent gives it back to Damen. The last time Damen brings it is before their wedding.
