This is important
Growing up fat, you get made fun of for everything you do, even basic shit like eating and laughing and breathing are funny when you do it because youre fat! And its so hard to not carry that with you as you get older, like I’m still embarassed to eat or dance in front of people or smile in pictures and its ridiculous and I hate it and I wish I was treated with more humanity
Thin people can reblog this btw
they wont tho lmao
Part of learning to survive was accepting that people will be disgusted when they see me eat and deciding that I didn’t give a single fuck about that because their disgust is rooted in bigotry and their discomfort is the furthest possible thing from being my problem.
Eating is such a basic and necessary thing, the same as wearing clothes and it’s wild to me now to think about how intensely policed fat people are. Like we’re just out here trying to survive and eat and we’re dehumanized, humiliated and chastised for sport. I’m sorry my beautiful fat angels for the hell they’ve put us through. You deserve so much safety and so much freedom.

Why I never believe an obese person when they say the only eat 1000 of fewer calories a day.
Hi OP! Obese people are not fat fucks that spend all their time eating stuff for fun! Obesity is a multi-factor disease only partially related to food abuse! You don’t know shit 🙂 ! If an obese person tells you that it’s likely because they’ve been bullied into thinking that, as fat fucks, they don’t get to eat as much as they should to be healthy! You’re part of the problem OP! Bye OP!
given the facts that 81% of 10 yr-old girls are afraid of becoming fat and young girls report being more afraid of becoming fat than of getting cancer or experiencing nuclear war, i think we can abandon the idea that public anti-obesity campaigns are actually about promoting health
Christine Sydelko said this on twitter but I had to share it here. Fatphobic people don’t care about fat people’s health.

Shout out to all the chronically ill people who gained weight because it was getting harder to move around and are now being told it’s only hard to move around because they’re overweight.
I saw a bumper sticker the other day that pissed me off. It said “Being fat isn’t a disablity”.
Listen jerks who own this sticker, no one says that being fat is a disability. But being overweight can cause someone to have legitimate health issues. If someone has diabetes, that can cause kidney issues and heart problems. Someone may be gaining weight due to meds to help transplants, or thyroid issues. So many possibilities…
Plus there are lots of disabilities that cause weight gain. Maybe a person has to take high doses of steroids, which leads to weight gain. Heck, I take 21 pills a day, and three of those meds list weight gain as side effects. And I have gained 50 lbs. since starting them. My eating habits haven’t changed. My body has. Others with my conditions may be way underweight and need feeding tubes.
Besically, being overweight can cause disability, just as being disabled can cause you to be overweight.
Being disabled is hard enough, no one needs to suffer judgements based on their weight on top of that.
