Imagine Mama Katsuki on all those days we don’t see, watching the changes in the way Victor and Yuri interact with each other, the different ways they start to look at each other. She doesn’t miss the way Victor looks at her Yuri, and once or twice he seems to know she’s caught him, which he passes off with a smile and offering to help her with something. She wonders if Yuri has even noticed the changes himself, or even if he’s aware of the way he sometimes watches–even stares–at their silver-haired guest.

Well. Even if he hasn’t, she thinks Vic-chan has, and either way, the two seem to be getting closer.

Toshiya notices, too, a bit later than she does. He doesn’t say much, but asks her a question that hints he suspects. Hiroko smiles, but admits that even though she’s seen the same, she doesn’t think the two are together. Not yet, anyway. She’s sure Mari has noticed too, even though she tries–and sometimes fails–to feign indifference.

None are surprised when Victor kisses Yuri at the Cup of China. Well, maybe a little surprised at the timing and publicness of it, but not the kiss itself. They’re even less surprised by how easily the two fall into this new side of their relationship, like it’s something both have been waiting for a long time.

Maybe they have.
